Business owner who claimed mom died because of ban lied

Mike Hager, the man, had told a local Fox affiliate that his mother was stranded at an Iraqi airport after Trump's executive order barring immigrants from seven majority-Muslim countries went into effect on Saturday.

In an interview with CBS in Boston, Hager, who worked in Iraq as a translator for U.S. Special Forces, said the decision "came out of nowhere".

A woman who lived in America since 1995 has died a day after being turned away from the USA as a result of Donald Trump's executive order to ban people from seven predominantly Muslim countries, according to reports.

He was allowed to pass, but his mother and family members, all green card holders, were denied access. They'd been in Iraq visiting family but planned to return to the US when Naimma fell ill.

"The immigration told us that the President of the United States put an order right now - you guys can not go", he told FOX 2's Amy Lange.

However, an Islamic leader in Dearborn, Michigan, has refuted Hager's claim, and said instead the 75-year-old woman died five days before Trump's ban was rolled out.

He believes his mother would have survived if she had been able to return to her home and seek treatment, Fox 2 said. Trump's ban is set to last for 90 days, ostensibly to allow the US government to ferret out "individuals with terrorist ties and stopping them from entering the United States".

Trump And Putin To Speak By Phone On Saturday
The new president said he also hopes to have "a great relationship" with China - a country he's accused of currency manipulation. Asked about British sanctions on Russia, May was more direct, saying sanctions would continue.

"I was just shocked".

'She's gone because of him [Trump]. Despite being an American citizen, Hager says he is anxious with the new development, wondering where he will go next, if he is no more welcome in the country he grew up in.

Naimma has had a green card for 20 years and lived with her son, a small business owner, in MI.

His mother died the next day. Hager returned to Iraq in the mid-2000s to serve as a paramilitary contractor who advised US troops on the country's language and culture, and survived being shot in the back during his service.

Trump signed the executive order on Friday that temporarily bans refugees and people from seven Muslim-majority countries, sparking tumult at U.S. airports and protests in major American cities. "We've been here for too long, we've been here since we were kids", he said.

The order also places a four- month hold on allowing refugees into the U.S., and includes an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria. I got shot twice in Iraq in Fallujah. "Now I'm coming over here with my family not with me", he said.
