The leader of France's far-right Front National political party and candidate for the 2017 French presidential elections Marine Le Pen delivers a speech during the Front National political rally and start of her presidential campaign in Lyon, France, 5 February 2017.

The single-currency's current strength means that investors could be backloading too much in the event of a victory for Le Pen in the presidential election.

"I am attracted by what she says about patriotism, her definition of French identity and culture and her wish to put France back among the big worldwide players", he said.

Le Pen, the Independent reports, "wants to restrict universal rights including free education to French citizens, while making it harder to gain citizenship, limit migration to a net annual total of 10,000, and deport all foreign convicts and anyone under investigation for 'links with radical Islam'". "There will be no other laws and values in France but French", she said in reference to what she calls "massive immigration". "We do not want to live under the yoke or the threat of Islamic fundamentalism", she said.

Political analysts expect Le Pen to win the first round of France's presidential election, as her two rivals struggle in their own campaigns.

The National Front (FN) candidate told supporters in the eastern city of Lyon that globalisation was slowly choking communities to death.

Le Pen thanked British, Italian, Greek and Austrian voters, and Donald Trump, for "showing us the way. the awakening of peoples against the oligarchies can become a reality".

Bipartisan Senate vote moves Tillerson closer to confirmation
Instead, Democrats shifted to an uphill battle to try to convince Republicans to vote against Tillerson. Graham (R-S.C.) had announced their support for Tillerson before the committee voted .

"They don't speak in the name of the people, they speak in the name of their bitterness, they speak for themselves, from father to daughter and daughter to niece", he said, referring to Le Pen's father Jean-Marie and niece Marion.

Le Pen's speech closes the two-day conference in Lyon.

"This presidential election puts two opposite proposals", Le Pen said in her manifesto. "They are looking to impose on us gender discrimination in public places, full body veils or not, prayer rooms in the workplace, prayers in the streets, huge mosques. or the submission of women", she said.

Ms Le Pen also wants to pull out of the Euro to go back to francs, hold a referendum on European Union membership within six months, and slap taxes on imports and the employment of foreigners.

With hitherto favourite Francois Fillon, a conservative, embroiled in scandal over his wife's job, and rising centrist star Emmanuel Macron as yet untested, Le Pen's FN says it can thwart polls that see her losing in a second round run-off. Le Pen hardened her view on the former topic, cheered by militants screaming "this is our country". She, however, said that she would try to negotiate new terms for France and if she fails in that she would go for the referendum.

The Socialist Party recently chose radical leftist Benoit Hamon as its candidate.
