Fleabag star set for Chewbacca-style role in Han Solo spin-off film

Actress Pheobe Waller-Bridge, star of the BBC and Amazon-produced comedy show Fleabag, is in talks to join the forthcoming Han Solo movie, Mashable has confirmed via a source familiar with the talks.

The actress will play a CGI-character in the film, which has just started production, so reports Variety.

While it's certainly possible that the role is for an alien, like of Lupita Nyong'o's performance as Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens, Variety only refers to droids, which has us thinking that Waller-Bridge's potential role might be for a droid companion in the film.

The Spinoff of Han Solo is the center of attention of all fans of Star Wars.

The movie is now filming, with Donald Glover taking over the role of Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as an as-yet-unnamed mentor character, and Emilia Clarke as an unspecified character.

Mr Turnbull said he was disappointed details of the call, which he described as "very frank and forthright", had been made public. The Australian PM said despite Trump's tweet on Wednesday, the United States officials were already assessing the issue.

Waller-Bridge has appeared in shows including Broadchurch and Drifters and has landed smaller roles in big screen films including The Iron Lady and Albert Nobbs.

Fleabag featured on many critics' and publications' top 10 of the best TV of 2016; it was also nominated in multiple categories at the Critics' Choice TV Awards and the Broadcast awards.

Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke are also slated to star, in roles that are yet to be revealed. Here's hoping the Han Solo spin-off is the next project we get to watch her in.

The film will be the second of the latest string of "Star Wars" spin-offs, following the commercially successful and critically acclaimed "Rogue One".

The as-yet-untitled Han Solo film is now due on May 25th, 2018.
