Willy Caballero warns City against over-confidence

  • Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero are sweating over who will be in goal for Man City

Bravo paid the price for a series of costly errors last month when he was dropped for Willy Caballero, 35, who has kept goal for City in their last three games and is expected to keep his place in the team for the trip to Bournemouth on Monday.

It means he has not made a stop of any description for City since the 2-1 win over Burnley on January 2. The decision I take is based on what I see, why one player is not here and another is.

Bournemouth face the toughest of tasks as the look to turn their torrid Premier League form around against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side on Monday Night Football. I would like him to stay but I don't know what is going to happen.

The on loan Arsenal star has previously been linked with a move to City and Guardiola said: "I remember Barcelona when we played Arsenal - he left a massive impression".

"He remains a top player, an important player for us to achieve our goals".

Bournemouth enjoyed a good first-half to their second Premier League campaign and there were even aspirations of making a push for a potential top eight finish, having been as high as ninth at one stage.

Aguero has been on the bench for the last two matches due to the impressive form of Brazilian Gabriel Jesus, who has scored three goals in his last two outings.

"Before the game with West Ham I had a meeting with the manager and he told me he put me in the starting XI". There are more crosses, more special things to deal with, but of course he is a top, top goalkeeper.

After last Sunday's win over Swansea, Aguero raised doubts over his future by saying he would have to see what the club wanted to do with him this summer - while insisting he was still happy there.

Guardiola also underlined the club's firm stance over the future of striker Sergio Aguero.

Despite those selection dilemmas, Guardiola is more content with the way his team are playing now than a month ago, when a 4-0 defeat at Everton prompted him to declare City were out of the Premier League title race.

Guardiola has preferred to go with a front three of Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling in recent games.

"We are going to fight until the end", he said. Very few know how many hours I put into coming back every single time.

"Football is going to miss one of the best players ever". "The performances I gave in my first season at the club weren't as good as they were in another team, another country". He played a lot good games.
