Here's what's improved and fixed in Windows 10 Mobile build 15061

Windows 10 Home users may soon lose some of their already limited ability to prevent Microsoft from forcing automatic system updates on their PCs.

The fact of the matter however is that if you are running Kaby Lake or Ryzen you are going to have to update your PC to Windows 10 to insure you get all of the most important updates.

One of Microsoft's most hated operating systems (Windows ME is hard to beat on that front) is destined to die in less than a month.

"Your PC uses a processor that isn't supported on this version of Windows", the error message reads. This is a Microsoft decision, and one that AMD and Intel have no control over, despite what their customers may want.

Marking a connection as metered is the only way for Windows 10 Home users to prevent Windows from updating. Users can check out the specs needed to run Windows 10 here, but even still, there is no easy upgrade path. Microsoft's offer of a free upgrade to Windows 10 expired on 29 July 2016, and didn't apply to Vista users anyway.

Data from Net Marketshare reveals that as many as 48.41% of PC's on the web are still running Windows 7. If it's the latter, chances are you built the system and did you really put an 8-year-old OS on a brand new PC?

That means Microsoft is making it increasingly cost-inefficient for these users to stick with XP, which is understandable from a sales perspective. "We don't plan to send large updates over metered connections, but could use this for critical fixes if needed in the future", Microsoft said.

Here are the list of the main features when the Creators Update arrive such as: more changes to its start menu, improvements and interface changes, a new comprehensive Windows Defender interface, updates on Microsoft Edge, 3D and gaming features, a few Cortana updates and other additions of many other minor changes as well. Rather than mere benign neglect (not actively testing new patches on the new processors, but not stopping anyone from hitting Windows Update and installing them), the Knowledge Base article would suggest that Microsoft intends to implement a hard block, with Windows Update completely shutting out these new processors. Users think that this update is just to increase the market share of Windows 10.
