Mindy Kaling Gets A Dinner Date Out Of Dissing Sen. Cory Booker

  • Senator Cory Booker sets date Mindy Kaling

"You are making my day", the politician wrote back.

Kaling accepted Booker's offer for a dinner date, along with a flawless joke about the PATH train.

The flirtation began when Kaling threw shade at the city of Newark, New Jersey - of which Booker was formerly mayor - on her Hulu show, "The Mindy Project".

"Cory Booker? I can't believe he came", Kaling said on the show. Pretty soon, the two were arranging to have dinner in Newark, with Booker offering to send a Lyft for Kaling.

Cory Booker took a shot at Mindy Kaling on Twitter Thursday - and he got nothing but net. Again using the heart-shaped emoji to signify love.

As this was unfolding in real time PATH chimed in with its train schedule to ensure that this date actually happens. To which she wholeheartedly agreed.

This has left fans on Twitter on tenterhooks about whether the two will break bread. She, in her own way, has given motivation to millions of girls both white and colored that you can get as far as you yourself allow.

It was all some harmless fun that Booker seemed to be on board with, tweeting at Kaling he thought it was amusing but had to politely disagree about the diss of the city he was once the mayor of. She also kind of, sort of dissed Newark, but he didn't hold that against her.

BTW, we're all for this, even if it doesn't lead to them being a couple.
