  • Anthony Hudson and Tommy Smith talk at All Whites training

New Zealand need just a point from their final group game against Fiji to book their place in the Oceania World Cup qualifying playoff.

All Whites coach Anthony Hudson is taking nothing for granted despite rounding up a squad which has lost injured captain Winston Reid but is otherwise at close to full strength.

When Anthony Hudson named his All Whites squad for the two matches against Fiji there was one player he thought should be talked about most.

"I think we missed him against New Caledonia in the last tour, he was the one person who really could have helped us do what we did tonight and on Saturday, but he really fits that role". I congratulate all the boys because it was not easy and the way they played was very positive.

"It's a big big progression from where we were past year when we played against the island teams", he said.

"Especially when we played quickly forward they had a lot of bodies behind the ball", he said.

"We can manage the ball, I was sure about that", he said.

New Zealand has now qualified for the OFC Stage 3 World Cup qualifying final.

Ingham came on as a second half substitute in the 61st minute as New Zealand progressed further in their bid to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup .

What happened: Fiji started off in good fashion keeping the ball moving with some crisp passes.
