  • NORC Poll: Majority of Americans favor Russia probe

The AP poll was conducted in the midst of the collapse of the GOP health care overhaul.

After more than two months in office, America's new president, Republican Donald Trump, got a grade of F from 1 in 3 voters, according to a new McClatchy-Marist Poll.

More than half - 51 percent - said they disapproved. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

The poll also spoke to people who did not vote, such as Whitni Milton, 31, a professional singer from Atlanta who generally votes Democrat, but was "disgusted" by both candidates. "I have never seen someone who has riled up so many people".

By 45-39 percent, voters thought President Donald Trump has strengthened the economy.

Trump stunned the world on November 8 previous year by defeating his heavily favored Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, in the presidential election, sending the United States on a new, uncertain path.

But with Trump in the White House, Milton is so disappointed that she said she would take former President George W. Bush, who started two major wars that have killed more than 200,000 people and presided over one of the biggest economic recessions in USA history. "I will take Bush 10 times over". Thirty-eight percent said they would vote for the Republican. But since winning the presidency in November, 2016, he has consistently had the lowest numbers of any newly elected president in USA history.

Wenger added: "He has one and a half years left on his contract". Then you give yourself more time inbetween the two seasons. I hope the club will find an agreement with them.

Almost 20 percent of those who disapprove of Trump's overall performance still approve of how he's handling the economy.

According to a NBC News|Survey Monkey poll, Trump's job approval rating is 42 percent, which is 1 percent lower than the previous month, according to CNBC.

"These Republican numbers suggest at the base there has been some erosion", Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, told McClatchy. Republicans won three of those four elections, taking the House from the Democrats in 2010, the Senate in 2014, and now the White House a year ago, according to Kyle Kondit, a political guru of sorts who writes at Sabato's Crystal Ball. "And he hasn't done anything to cultivate it".

Voters are unhappy with Trump because of his personality, not just his policies.

Trump also signed an executive order on January 27 that imposed a temporary travel ban on citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries, including Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen and placed an indefinite ban on Syrian refugees.

The AP-NORC poll of 1,110 adults was conducted March 23-27 using a sample drawn from NORC's probability-based AmeriSpeak panel, which is created to be representative of the US population.

Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish.
