Millions of Christians around the world are commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ this Good Friday.

Thousands of Christians in Rwanda, yesterday, marked Good Friday by taking part in a Way of the Cross procession to signify the journey in the lead up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

"This is an opportunity to come together with people of other faith traditions and to share something that we all have in common; it's the high point of the Easter season", Montgomery said.

Members of the clergy call it a "live" Stations of the Cross demonstration because instead of praying at each station inside the church, hundreds of people hold up crosses and pray in the streets.

"I've been doing this for many years with various churches", said Atha, who spent 10 years at the Vancouver School of Theology and was in line to become a deacon but stepped down because of health issues. Here are a sampling of images from Stations of the Cross at three downtown Fort Wayne churches.

Jesus Christ bears the cross during a Stations of the Cross procession Friday followed by more than 150 parishioners.

"We have to adjust our lives to the model of our life which is Jesus, and sometimes making that adjustment in our lives is hard", Saenz said.

Trump said the chemical weapons attack in Syria was "an affront to humanity", and it "crossed a lot of lines" for him. The press conference came after Nunes reviewed classified documents that he says he got from a secret source.

He said a particular pall had fallen over Good Friday with the discovery this week of four bodies in a Central Islip park, apparently the victims of gang violence, according to Suffolk police. "But also this is one day when the churches get out of their sanctuaries and into the streets".

The annual Catholic event commemorates Jesus's carrying of the cross before he was crucified.

Carmelo Riccardo Tringalli - a Catholic from Sydney - said it was his first Good Friday procession in Melbourne for some time.

St. Paul the Apostle Parish is made up of churches in Bangor, Brewer, Hampden and Winterport.

"It's remembering Christ's sacrifice".

"Another sadness to me today is that the Greek and the Orthodox Church is not participating today, given Easter is the same day for us all this year".
