Research suggests on a national scale, women make 80 cents for every dollar a man earns.

Voluntary, private and public organizations with 250 or more employees will have to reveal any gender discrepancies in staff pay by April next year.

With Equal Pay Day coming on Tuesday, you can find out where your state stands. It took 94 extra days in 2017 to equal a man's 2016 pay. So, just how much less are minority women making than their white female and male counterparts?

According the National Committee on Pay Equity, it usually falls on a Tuesday to show how far into the work week women must work to match the pay earned by men.

The gender-pay gap is about 20 percent, a serious difference, especially considering how many single moms there are in the U.S.
