Panneerselvam says revolt against Dinakaran first success of 'dharma yudh' against Sasikala

Reports suggest that the AIADMK ministers met and made a decision to oust Sasikala and Dinakaran from AIADMK with a view to accepting a major condition of former CM O. Panneer Selvam for real unity of the party founded by MGR and developed very carefully by Jayalalithaa.

The Delhi Police has filed charges against her nephew Dinakaran, accusing him of trying to bribe an Election Commission (EC) official to hand over the party's former "two leaves" symbol to his faction.

Seeking to avoid any confrontation, Dinakaran said he had "stepped aside" last night itself "in the interest of the party". He also thanks the party for the support he has been shown so far.

A couple of days after registering an FIR against AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran in connection with a bribery case, the Delhi police have issued a lookout notice against him. They are protesting in Delhi. "I will discuss the issue with her". The minister is believed to have informed the governor of the possibility of change in the ministerial team, if and when merger talks are concluded.

He further said that Dinakaran, who was not even a member of the party till Jayalalithaa's demise, was tarnishing the AIADMK's image and added it wouldn't be tolerated.

Soon after D Jayakumar announced the party's decision to keep away V K Sasikala and her family from the party, D Jeyanandh, son of Sasikala's brother Dhiwakaran welcomed the decision. If they had called me for the meeting, I would have gone. Party founder MG Ramachandran (MGR) and late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had steered the party as a people's movement, he told reporters here.

"We will run the party and the government", Jayakumar said. Will it be enough for him to say yes, or will he take his chances by asking for something more?

He reiterated that AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran and his successor Jayalalithaa led the party as a movement of cadres. Dhivakaran's closeness to M Natarajan, who had a strained relationship with Sasikala, and statements insinuating the BJP's role in AIADMK fiasco, allegedly made Sasikala prefer Dhinakaran.

On board "INS Chennai", Finance Minister Jayakumar refused to attach any significance to an MLAs meeting. He also held the post for a short time after Amma's death.

Hardening his stand, Panneerselvam also asked for withdrawal of affidavits submitted to the Election Commission declaring Sasikala and Dhinakaran as party general secretary and deputy general secretary, respectively.
