  • McDonald's teamed up with two designers to give its uniforms a modern makeover

While you might not be able to lock down a good job with the Imperial Senate, you can start working for McDonald's, where your uniform will make you feel like part of the Empire's massive fleet.

Celebrity designers Bindu Rivas and Waraire Boswell-who have dressed everyone from Will Smith to Ryan Gosling-created the new looks, utilitarian black and gray garb that ranges from collared polo shirts to T-shirts and long-sleeved looks. The new uniforms feature a pretty drab palate of grays (possibly as many as 50 shades) that convey a scene of rain falling from dark storm clouds onto a cold gravestone. I think these uniforms look like they could be at any chain or restaurant.

Internet trolls drew comparisons to dystopian films like The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner and fit in quite a few Star Wars references.

"Individuality is important to McDonald's restaurant employees", a statement by McDonald's read, according to Fortune.

Bekele in a hurry for London glory
Tanzania's long-distance prodigy Alphonce Felix Simbu has arrived in London ready for the London Marathon due on Sunday. Sumgong's positive for the blood booster EPO brought stinging criticism from some of her compatriots ahead of the race.

While McDonald's calls the "collection" modern and contemporary, the internet had other things to say about the new look which will be seen on the chain's 850,000 restaurant employees across the USA this month. One Twitter user wrote, "McDonald's uniforms have a distinct labor camp vibe".

The company claims that more than 70 percent of staff it surveyed feel the uniforms "provide a modern image that they would be proud to wear".

You can take a look at the uniforms here and decide for yourself.

Forever aspiring to refine and ideal the fast-food experience, McDonald's has increasingly sought to remove the pesky human element, whose erratic idiosyncrasies have long proved a hindrance to the efficient dissemination of hamburgers. Or is this the gang responsible for flipping President Snow and Governor Tarkin's burgers?
