  • Kansas officer rescues drowning boy from pond

Officer Aaron Bulmer rescued Elijah Hamby from a Central Park pond Sunday.

Topeka police said Bulmer was exiting his vehicle to speak to the child when the child fell into the pond.

Bulmer wasted no time, diving into the cold water and reaching the child in a matter of seconds.

The body cam footage captured the officer diving into the water and scooping the child up as the boy fights to lift his head out of the water.

Police said he'd wandered away from a parent, who was looking for him at the time of the rescue.

Bills Decline 2018 Option On WR Watkins
The former first-round pick will enter 2017 in the previous year of his rookie contract. The tag would net the wideout more cash in one year than the fifth-year option.

Officer Bulmer went into action to save the four-year-old boy as he quickly went underwater.

"He is a very intellectual child, but as far as social interactions and dangers - I don't think he's fully able to comprehend the dangers (of the pond)", Hamby said.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a hospital for evaluation and reunited with his parents.

A Kansas officer is being hailed a hero after jumping into a pond to save an autistic, 4-year-old boy.

"I believe that God put me into that situation", Bulmer said. A bystander runs over to help Officer Bulmer pull the boy from the water.
