On the game's official website, Nintendo reveals that the first DLC, titled "The Master Trials", will feature several new modes and tools, as well as a number of bonus armors that are inspired from the previous "The Legends of Zelda" installments.
While that is the addition of new game modes, the pack will also introduce the Hero's Path Mode, which will let you see on your game map, the last 200 hundred hours of walking you have done, which means you can see where you have been.
Traveling to a certain sacred, spoiler-filled location, allows you to take on the "Trial of the Sword" challenge. Instead, it will increase the average level of enemies by one stage (e.g., Bokoblins that would have been red will be blue instead). Plus, enemies will recover health during battle, and they'll be more aware when you attempt to sneak up on them. Clear all the trials (about 45 rooms in total), and the true power of the Master Sword awakens.
The DLC also includes a hard mode, complete with tougher enemies and floating treasure guarded by monsters.
If that isn't tough enough for you, you insane person, Hard Mode ranks up all the enemies and even adds some higher-ranking enemies that you can't see in a normal game. Link has no equipment when he enters and must continue to defeat enemies to proceed. It is unknown if these will have special features, but the Korok Mask will shake if you're close to the location of a Korok Seed.
There are also rumours of a new Nintendo Direct next week, at least in Japan, which may have something to do with the DLC.
The new features, detailed on the Legend of Zelda site, will be released as a single pack sometime this summer.
As far as the second DLC pack is concerned, Nintendo will reveal that at a later date.
In addition to the Travel Medallion and Korok Mask, you will receive eight more pieces of Zelda-themed equipment, if you can find them.
The first DLC pack will be titled The Master Trials and will launch during summer 2017. So once found, players can use this item to register a travel point on the map that Link can swiftly transport to at any time. A new item called the Travel Medallion is being added which, when located, will allow players to set a temporary fast travel location on the map.
The DLC also comes with a few new navigational aids to help players in their exploration of Hyrule.
Travel Medallion - Shrines are not just handy for their orbs, but in the game they're invaluable travel points.
