Trump confirms he's under investigation, fires angry tweets

During Trump's morning Twitter statements, he seemingly confirmed that he is facing an investigation in connection to his decision to fire James Comey as FBI director.

"I'm being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!" said Trump, lamenting what he called a "witch hunt". Trump said on Twitter, calling the probe into him a "Witch Hunt". The President has been criticizing the special counsel appointment as the "single greatest witch hunt" in the history of US politics. What is clear is that he could order the Justice Department to ax Mueller, which may result in Rosenstein's departure and would certainly intensify the uproar over the investigation.

Aides said that the President had chose to take matters into his own hands and believed he was his own best defender in the escalating crisis surrounding the White House.

Robert Mueller, the man chosen to take over the inquest as special investigator, had started investigating into president Trump's behaviour.

Trump has been growing increasingly agitated with Rosenstein over the last day or two in private White House meetings and in conversations with friends, multiple people have told CNN.

The White House has directed questions to outside legal counsel, which has not responded. Rosenstein also said that he saw no reason to relieve Mueller from his special counsel duties. "Nice", Trump wrote in his first tweet.

Close to $1 million worth of meth in the form of colorful lollipops was seized Tuesday from a Houston-area home, officials said. Diaz asked reporters. "We found the amount of drugs seized from this house was almost a million dollars in street value".

Deputy Attorney-General Rod Rosenstein submitted a widely circulated memo to the President last month raising concerns over Mr. Comey's performance, but Mr. Trump later asserted that he had already made the decision himself to fire Mr. Comey.

It was unclear whether the president's comment confirming he was under investigation was based on direct knowledge or media reports that Mueller is examining whether the president obstructed justice by firing Comey. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, in a statement. Though some in the White House have preached caution, fearing a repeat of the firestorm over Comey's firing, many in Trump's orbit - including his son Donald Trump Jr. and adviser Newt Gingrich - have deemed Mueller biased and worthy of dismissal. "That's undemocratic on its face and a blatant violation of the president's oath of office". Trump appeared to take a subtle swing at Rosenstein during his tweets today, and new reports are saying that the Deputy Attorney General might recuse himself from the Russian Federation probes as well.

Earlier this week, the investigation led by Mueller appeared to move closer to Trump.

The new allegations against Trump center on his own admission that he fired Comey because of the Russian Federation investigation, and suggestions he asked several top intelligence officials for their help altering the inquiry's direction. Reports have alleged that Trump asked both men to publicly quash the credibility of the Russian Federation investigation.

The order from the general counsel for the transition team casts a wide net on documents that could shed light on ties between Trump's presidential campaign and representatives of Russia's government.

White House aides have been instructed to not talk about Russian Federation investigation, but that doesn't apply to the President. The legal one will come later.
