UAE warns sanctions on Qatar could last years

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sa'ati, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr Mohammed Al Badri, the Charge d'affaires of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Al Shimari, and the First Secretary at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Al Mansoori, met today the Russian Foreign Affairs Committee in the State Duma, Leonid Slutsky.

"Qatar will realise that this is a new state of affairs and isolation can last years", Gargash told a small group of reporters in Paris on Monday.

In a statement Monday, the Qatar government said those governments were "using terrorism as a publicity stunt". "Eventually, people will realise that the move they have done against my country was ill-thought out and ill-advised and that life has to come back to normal", he said.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt said Friday they were restricting travel for Qatari owned or registered flights and that there were "no limitations" to worldwide airways.
