The FDNY is responding to a tree that fell down in Central Park and injured four people on Tuesday morning, an NYPD spokesman said. "She just really wanted her baby".

Anne Monoky Goldman, 39, bravely threw herself over her infant and two toddlers when the giant elm toppled on top of them about 10am Tuesday. Four people were seriously hurt, the spokesperson said, and were taken to New York Cornell Hospital. Johnsen said she saw an injured woman get taken away in an ambulance. The witness also said the little boys and the baby were crying but appeared to be alright. According to the spokesman, FDNY units were able to remove the adult from under the tree. The. When the NYPD officers were able to reach the woman trapped under the tree, she was alert and asking what had happened, ABC7 NY news reports. The Central Park tree that fell on the mother and blocked a park roadway, CBS News reports.

Goldman was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a fractured neck, according to brother-in-law Ryan Goldman.

Upper West Side resident Jaki Johnsen came upon the scene while biking in the park this morning, and told Gothamist a man in front of her witnessed the crash.
