We knew Taylor Swift had to be up to something pretty epic when she wiped her social media completely clean, teased a new album with snake videos, and then dropped the next chapter in the drama saga via her new video for "Look What You Made Me Do".

Taylor's "You Belong With Me" persona looks nearly identical to her 2008 video, except her t-shirt now displays the names of her closest celebrity friends.

#TaylorSwiftIsASnake has been the hashtag for those on Twitter wishing to take the singer to task, and the reptiles showed up in her video, with one even serving her tea.

With several fans claiming the lyrics referred to her long running feuds with Katy Perry, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Taylor Swift's new album Reputation, will be released in November.

Taylor slams someone for their "titled stage", which the "All Day" hitmaker had one during his 'Saint.

The 27-year-old pop star released her new song Look What You Made Me Do last week with lyrics seemingly critical of the power couple.

Fans were more forgiving, cheering Swift as she turned the tables on her detractors. Looks like now she's embracing that reputation.

YouTube, Spotify. All the records are tumbling to Taylor Swift's comeback.

It's a lot to take in, and we're still processing what we witnessed, but rest assured that if you wanted a big budget video that can be summed up as, "See?"

While Taylor Swift's ode to revenge is breaking Spotify records and basking in the YouTube spotlight, there are better songs - good, decent songs that aren't about killing your enemies - hiding in the shadows, unloved and un-listened to.

Wearing the same outfit, Swift repeats words used in a statement given past year in response to a feud with the rapper: "I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative".

There's earnest, nerdy Swift from the "You Belong With Me" video who was scolded by zombie Swift saying, "Stop making that surprise face, it's so annoying".

This, of course, is in addition to the lyric video, which was streamed a record 19 million times in its first 24 hours after hitting the web on Friday.

Subtlety doesn't have a place in the reference-packed video, which extravagantly calls out everything the media have had to say about her for the last decade, and it's all the more unbelievable for it. The video portrays Swift literally rising from the dead as she becomes more glamorous and powerful.
