Equifax says it's fixed numerous issues people ran into.

Equifax announced late Friday that its chief information officer and chief security officer would leave the company.

Rohrwasser has led the company's worldwide IT operations, and Ayres was a vice president in the IT organisation.

Mandiant was reportedly engaged to investigate the March breach and could have begun concluding its investigation just before the second breach occurred in May. "You would think that, when it comes to cybersecurity, companies would put people over profit, but as we've seen with Equifax, that is not always the case".

Lawmakers, regulators and consumers have sharply criticised Equifax's response to the breach as slow, inadequate and confusing.

Prosecutors are looking at the stock sales by Equifax Chief Financial Officer John Gamble; President of U.S. Information Solutions Joseph Loughran; and President of Workforce Solutions Rodolfo Ploder, said two people, who asked not to be named because the probe is confidential. It means that no one, including you, can access your credit file until you unfreeze it, using a PIN or passphrase.

Equifax is still working to determine the number of Canadians affected, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada said in a statement.
