  • Denver Broncos:

After a peaceful protest last Sunday saw 32 Denver Broncos take a knee for the National Anthem, the team has decided that they will stand-all together-for the foreseeable future.

The Broncos were among the teams that had players demonstrate last week, and said in the statement, "Our voices needed to be heard loud and clear".

In a joint statement, the 52-member squad said their actions last week were "in no way a protest of the military, the flag or those who keep us safe".

They go on to explain that our country is not ideal and that inequalities still exist, "We can all do better", they wrote. But the message said the players are a team and they "stand together" and will do so starting Sunday. Almost three dozen members of the Broncos knelt during the anthem on Sunday, according to the Denver Post.

Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson's mother was quite poignant about how she felt regarding this weekend's matchup against the Oakland Raiders. "We just talked about it". "That's where the confusion kind of comes from, especially from the fans, we wanted to set the record straight, exactly the reasons why and just move forward". "We just felt the best way, that was the best direction to go".

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these National Football League owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a bitch off the field right now".

"Had a meeting [Wednesday] after practice. they wanted a statement of what they were doing", Joseph said. So I'm proud of the guys.

Broncos head coach Joseph Vance and general manager John Elway expressed that they preferred politics be separate from games following last week's fixture. So the Broncos turned to a good ol' vote to make their decision, the goal being to come up with a final decision for everyone. "We all went with it, so everybody stands". "No one had clarity", he said. How can you make true change with this toxic environment? "With the environment that we're in right now, no one's going to make any change".
