  • Mourinho'Pogba out for long term

The French global suffered a hamstring tear during the first half of the 3-0 win at Old Trafford and Mourinho has this afternoon compared his absence to that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo.

Pogba injured his hamstring in a Champions League tie against Basel earlier this month and initial reports suggested the France midfielder could be out for 12 weeks.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has described Paul Pogba as being a "long-term" injury worry, grouping the Frenchman together with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo.

"[Pogba's] injured, he can not play tomorrow", Mourinho confirmed.

Pogba, Rojo and Ibrahimovic are joined on the sidelines by Michael Carrick, while Jones and Valencia are to be assessed having missed the midweek Champions League match at CSKA Moscow.

"His injury is not one that I can have the hope like I can have with Valencia or Jones".

"So Ibra and Pogba and Rojo, these players I don't think about them". "They were out [on Wednesday] and tomorrow some [players] will be out [too]".

"What I'm saying is that, from all the injuries we had, I hope that I can have some players available for tomorrow".

The injuries are piling up for United, and it's not an ideal situation for Mourinho's men given they're chasing the title and competing in all three cups as well this season. When asked whether the Ecuador captain would be fit, Mourinho said: "We have to train but, maybe, yes".

And Twitter's reaction to the news shows just how important the midfielder is in United's bid to win the Premier League for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
