South Africa middle-order batsman David Miller smashed the record for the fastest century in Twenty20 global cricket as South Africa thumped Bangladesh by 83 runs yesterday for a clean sweep of the two-match series.

Miller reached his hundred off just 35 balls, shattering the record of 45 balls set previously by former Proteas batsman Richard Levi in 2012.

Chasing a mammoth 225 for a win, Bangladesh could only manage 141 all out in 18.3 overs.

In the final game of the tour, Miller hit five sixes in a row in the 19th over, and nine sixes and seven fours in all in his record-breaking innings.

The result sees South Africa wrap up a 2-0 victory in the T20I series and a comprehensive whitewash of the tourists.

South Africa vs Bangladesh 2nd T20I will be broadcasted live on Sony Network from 1800 hrs IST on both SD and HD channels.

Bangladesh came closest to something to celebrate when it went down by 20 runs in the first T20.

"I would love to bat higher at No 4 or No 5, I've really enjoyed No 5 and we've got some world-class batsmen who take up the top four, I respect that", said Miller. It seems the Bangladeshi cricketer Mohammad Saifuddin was his most favourite bowler in the match as he smashed him for five consecutive sixes. He just missed out on becoming only the third batsman to hit six sixes in an over in global cricket when he could only drive the final ball from Saifuddin through the covers for one.

Even more painful for Bangladesh was the fact that Miller was dropped on 0, when Mushfiqur Rahim couldn't grab a gloved chance down the leg-side.

Richard Levi took the T20 world and worldwide cricket by storm as the SA batsman created history by scoring the fastest century in T20 internationals in just 45 balls where he smashed 13 sixes and remained unbeaten (Although now caught by Miller) 0n 117 in 2012.
