"The decision of the Arab League on Iranian intervention today was historical and sends a clear message on the effectiveness of joint Arab action", Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said late on Sunday.

Addressing the Arab foreign ministers' meeting, Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said: "Showing leniency toward Iran will not leave any Arab capital safe from those ballistic missiles".

Lebanon, where Hezbollah is a key member of a coalition government, and Iraq, a majority Shiite nation bound by close political and religious ties to Iran, stated their reservations about the harsher parts of the resolution, including one that branded Hezbollah a "terrorist" organization.

They said they planned to "brief" the U.N. Security Council on Iran's destabilizing policies in the region, particularly its support for Shiite rebels in Yemen, with a view to submit at a later stage an anti-Iran Arab resolution.

They condemned what they described as Iran's constant meddling in Arab affairs.

The Arab ministers Sunday called the firing of the missile an "aggression" against Saudi Arabia and a "threat to the Arab and worldwide security".

The global friendly game between Argentina and Nigeria gets underway at the Krasnodar Arena on Tuesday 14 November at 17:30 CET. This will be their first game against a non-African side since they played Luxembourg in May past year .

Saudi Arabia and its allies Sunday lashed out at alleged Iranian violations in the region amid tensions between Riyadh and Tehran. Iran's backing for militias such as Hezbollah have helped defeat ISIS, but have also greatly expanded Iran's foothold in the region, incurring the wrath of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting Bahrain's Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa was quite vocal against Hezbollah saying it was "in total control" of Lebanon. He said that the group has not sent ballistic missiles, advanced weapons "or even a pistol" to Yemen, Bahrain, or Kuwait — the countries where the group is accused of supporting government critics. He alleged, "Iranian threats have gone beyond all limits and pushed the region into a risky abyss".

Earlier in the day, Iran's foreign Minister Javad Zarif told state media in Antalya, a Turkish resort city, on the sidelines of a meeting with his Russian and Trukish counterparts, "Unfortunately countries like the Saudi regime are pursuing divisions and creating differences and because of this they don't see any results other than divisions".

The minister said this contrasted with a Saudi meeting with the Arab League in Cairo, during which the kingdom demanded a hard line against Tehran. Many Lebanese, including President Michel Aoun and Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, have said they believe Hariri resigned under Saudi pressure. Israel had also admitted providing medical support to the "civilians" injured in Syria.

Nasrallah added that the fall of Boukamal did not mean the end of the fight against IS.
