A 17-year-old Florida high school soccer player has run away with a boy's soccer coach in Columbia County, authorities say.

Caitlyn Frisina, of Lake City, in Columbia County, climbed out the window of her family's home and erased all of the data from her cellphone, according to media reports, citing local deputies.

Rodriguez was a coach for the boys' soccer team at Fort White High School. The pair are possibly traveling in a red Mercury Sable with Florida tag# Z04CSC, police said.

Deputies said Caitlyn withdrew $200 from an ATM in St. Marys, Ga., on Sunday. Her parents reported her missing on Sunday morning when they realized she was gone.

The district released a letter saying that he has been suspended pending an investigation. "We don't care what's happened", Scarlet Frisina said. I feel that you do not have all the facts about your situation and I know you do not have the facts about how we feel right now.

Florida high school soccer star allegedly cleared off her phone before fleeing with coach

Ward Fristina told CBS that he helped Rian Rodriguez, 27, get a job as a soccer coach and had checked with him after he realized his daughter was missing. She said Rodriguez coached Caitlyn in the past, and he's a longtime family friend. "She has a big heart", the mother said. The teen has family in Pennsylvania and NY, and Rodriguez has family in Canada, according to deputies.

The mother said she doesn't believe Rodriguez ever posed a threat. Have you talked to anyone that knows?' And I haven't heard anything. No other comments will be made pending this investigation. He is believed to be driving a red Mercury Sable. She left with only a few clothes.

Scarlet has a message for her daughter: We want you to let us know that you're OK.

In response to his firing, Frisina's mom told First Coast News: "I think that this is one of the first steps in trying to rectify the situation". The girl's father, who is the head soccer coach, hired Rodriguez a year ago.

Anyone with information about Caitlyn's whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 386-719-2005.
