She was initially hospitalized after suffering the stroke while at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday, December 26.

Amanda was at the on Tuesday when she rushed to the hospital and underwent treatment.

She was en-route to Texas for her step-father's funeral at the time.

The award-winning journalist was on her way to her stepfather's funeral.

Several people across the country have sounded off on social media, offering condolences and sharing memories of the beloved anchor.

She worked at WAGA-TV for 26 years starting in 1986, when it was a CBS affiliate.

She was arrested and charged with DUI after driving the wrong way on Piedmont Avenue in Midtown Atlanta in 2012 while she was at WAGA.

"I'm very pleased that Amanda Davis will be bringing three decades of experience reporting on the major news stories in Atlanta to CBS46". She also helped launch a segment titled Wednesday's Child, which helped find Atlanta children find permanent homes.

Davis had also shared a Facebook post about celebrating Christmas after losing a loved one. On Wednesday, according to USA Today, she passed away surrounded by family members. "Amanda Davis persevered through it all, despite the dark time she knew her objective and it was her passion".
