  • Trump: 'Disgraceful' that illegal immigrant killed Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson

Indiana State Police said the Sunday crash took place when Jackson, 26, who was a passenger in a auto, became ill, and the driver Jeffrey Monroe, 54, pulled over.

Investigators believe that Monroe was a ride-sharing operator who pulled to the side of the road and got out of the vehicle to assist Jackson, 26, who became ill.

President Donald Trump said that it is "disgraceful" that an National Football League player was killed over the weekend by a man who was in the United States illegally.

We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!'

IN police identified the suspect as Manuel Orrego-Savala, a Guatemalan national. Orrego-Savala had been deported in 2007 and 2009.

The state police said its "investigators are working with U.S. Federal Immigration Officials and they have placed a hold on Orrego-Savala".

Irsay has not commented on Trump's response, but it wouldn't be the first time the 58-year-old owner took issue with the President's remarks. After an unauthorized immigrant was acquitted after killing a 32 year-old woman walking with her family on a San Francisco pier, Trump lashed out at the city's "sanctuary city" status.

Arizona man says he sold ammo to Las Vegas shooter
January 30: Judge Timothy Williams has ruled that the coroner's reports related to the 1 October mass shooting must be released. But court documents released Tuesday revealed officials considered a second man as a person of interest in their investigation.

Monday evening, Vice President Mike Pence tweeted that the crash "was a senseless and avoidable tragedy".

According to authorities, Jackson, 26, was driving with Jeffrey Monroe, 54, when he became ill and the two men pulled over to the side of the highway. Monroe was believed to have stepped out of the vehicle to help Jackson, police said.

Jackson and the driver of his ride-share auto were killed after a black Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 37-year-old man struck both of them as they were standing on the side of a highway by their stopped vehicle. In the process of slowing down, he hit the body of the victim who was in the center lane.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County coroner's office.

He was convicted of driving under the influence in 2005, and ICE arrested him over living in the country illegally in October 2006.

Orrego-Savala then made his way back to the United States, where ICE arrested him again in March 2009, and deported him for the second time that May. That's the same name he used in his 2017 Boone County arrest.
