  • Rockets look to get revenge against Celtics

The Rockets 15-game win streak matches the run the team started the 1993-94 season with, still seven games shy of the franchise record set 10 years ago. He had an adventure at the line to end this game as the Celtics blew a lead after three quarters. However, their teammates were more than happy to pick up the slack.

The Celtics won't make it easy though as they appear to have returned to some good form. It's also scored 50-plus points in four of those five games.

Rockets: Begin a four-game road trip at Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

The critical moment came when Trevor Ariza hit a three-pointer to tie the game up at 115-115 with 1:33 to play. 14 seconds later, Ariza stole a pass from Irving and took in himself for a finger roll to give the Rockets a lead they'd never relinquish. Over the streak, their margin of victory is 13.3 points.

James Harden and the Rockets will be a tough test for the Celtics Saturday night.

Gary Harris poured in a game-high 32 points and Will Barton added 23 as the Nuggets, coming off a 108-102 win at Memphis the night before, won for the sixth time in the past eight games.

The Celtics carried that momentum into the fourth quarter as they continued their rally with good shot selection from the floor and defense that ultimately led to Houston shooting 25 percent from the floor in the second half.

Kyrie Irving tried to miss the second free throw both times to give his team a chance at the offensive rebound, but failed on each occasion. Somehow both teams found enough time to foul each other and take ten more total free throws in the final seconds of the game. Unfortunately for the Boston player though, the ball hit the rim of the basket as the buzzer sounded, confirming that Houston's winning streak would continue.

LeBron James made his 13th triple-double of the season - scoring 25 points with 15 assists and 10 rebounds - but even 19 points from JR Smith in the second half was not enough to overcome the much-felt loss of injured Kevin Love. "We still have to prove ourselves".

Eric Gordon scored 29 and James Harden added 26 to fire the Rockets to a narrow home victory. Irving scored 18 and Horford had 10. Kyrie Irving led the team with 34 points, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris each scored 15 points while Greg Monroe chipped in with 14 points off the bench. He is averaging 24.9 points on 49.2% shooting, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals, though his play has been better than his stats suggest.

Boston's coach Brad Stevens said: "I just thought they maximized more possessions than we did". But they still have a seven-game lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 2 spot.

Celtics: Visit the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

If the Celtics truly stole a win from James Harden and the Rockets when these teams first met at TD Garden back on December 28 earlier this season, you can consider them even after Saturday night's national TV 123-120 Rockets win at Houston's Toyota Center.
