As they look up to the sky, a silhouette of Mary Poppins is seen descending from among the clouds. Mary Poppins brought magic and wonder everywhere she went, delighting kids the world over with her enchanted bottomless purse, flying umbrella, and animated friends. The upcoming film, which will be released in the United Kingdom on 21 December, sees Emily Blunt take over the iconic role of the magical nanny from Julie Andrews, who played her in the original 1964 film.

"Mary Poppins, it is wonderful to see you", says Michael Banks, played by Ben Whishaw.

Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda is co-starring in the film as Jack, a lamplighter who is going to help Mary turn around the lives of the Banks family after they suffer a tragedy. And for good reason, the story takes place 20 years after the events of the movie developed a cult following.

Disney has released the first Mary Poppins Returns trailer.
