A lockdown at Utica College was lifted around 5 p.m. Monday, after police conducted a thorough search of every building on campus.

Several secondary schools around the area are also on lockdown. It was one of the deadliest USA school shootings in United States, where dozens of such massacres have occurred in recent years.

UC ALERT: Utica College is now under a lock down due to a real, credible threat.

The Tangerine, a student newspaper, posted a photograph online of people hiding under desks. A heavy police presence was seen at the Burrstone Road campus.

No shots have been fired and there have been no reported injuries, the school tweeted at around noon on Monday. Local, state, and federal law enforcement are on scene.
