  • Adviser to UAE crown prince reportedly cooperating in Mueller probe

Robert Mueller's team, which is now investigating the alleged Russian interference in the USA presidential election and trying to determine if the real estate mogul's campaign colluded with the Kremlin to affect the outcome of the 2016 vote, is apparently well-aware of at least two occasions where the commander-in-chief questioned witnesses who have testified before the special counsel about the probe.

US President Donald Trump at a White House meeting in Washington February 28, 2018.

The investigation-porn that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is committing against Donald Trump and Republican voters all over the nation has reached the zenith of its tolerability.

And Trump also told White House officials after Attorney-General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation that he needed someone running the Justice Department who would protect him.

One of those conversations was with White House counsel Don McGhan, whom Trump reportedly urged to issue a statement denying the president had asked him to order Mueller's dismissal.

He thanked America "for the many wonderful gifts it has given me - my home, my livelihood, my family and now Oscar". As they say, presenting is lovelier the second time around, Dunaway joked.

The experts said the meetings with McGahn and Priebus would probably sharpen Mueller's focus on the President's interactions with other witnesses. Sources tell Fox News the latter conversation included "nothing" of substance and Trump just felt bad Priebus had been questioned for hours. Trump's questioning of key witnesses about their conversations with investigators could further spur Mueller's obstruction inquiries, according to experts who spoke with the Times.

"It makes it look like you're cooking a story, and prosecutors are always looking out for it", said Julie R. O'Sullivan, a law professor at Georgetown University.

The president said he had never ordered Mr. McGahn to fire the special counsel. McGahn did not release a statement contradicting the story and reportedly had to remind Trump that he did, in fact, ask him to dismiss the special counsel. Lawyers for the president have not responded to ABC News. The president told Mr. McGahn that he did not remember the discussion that way.

Trump also once "asked his former chief of staff, Reince Priebus, how his interview had gone with the special counsel's investigators and whether they had been 'nice, '" the Times notes.

These interactions (depending on how you interpret the McGahn conversation) may not be illegal, but they raise serious questions.
