Google makes it easier to buy what you search for

  • Google will now make more money, thanks to your shopping searches

Alphabet Inc's Google routinely fields product queries from millions of shoppers. The search giant already earns by displaying ads related to a search you made. You would be forgiven for translating this to "Google doesn't want to send shoppers to Amazon or eBay, Google want shoppers to complete the sale on Google".

Google today announced the launch of a new program called Shopping Actions. But according to a new report from Reuters, Google is assembling a retail superteam that will see a number of large retailers index their listings on Google search for the world to find.

Shopping Actions is launching in the USA and will eventually be open to retailers big and small, but we don't yet know when. "We see ourselves as part of a solution for retailers to be able to drive better transactions ... and get closer to the consumer". Most of these potential buyers are redirected to Amazon's website which narrows their purchase options.

Google Inc has just struck a deal with major US retailers to allow them to list their products on Google Search.

Snapchat's U.S.ad revenue will jump 81.7% this year to reach $1 billion for the first time, giving it a 1.0% share of USA digital ad spend. In this partnership, Google plans to catalog each retailer's online wares and display alongside any searches for a particular product. This is an entirely new revenue stream for the company separate from AdWords that will also help push its control over the growing smart home and voice search market.

President Buhari Does Not Condone Incompetence, Says Adesina
Femi Adesina, had said this while answering questions during a radio programme, Political Platform, on RayPower FM. He said the fact remained that Buhari was in full charge of the government and he had been running it efficiently.

Google says that its data reveals that mobile searchers for "where to buy" surged by 85 percent over the past two years. They can, for example, look for an item on a smartphone using Google, add a retailer's listing to their Google Express cart; when they get home later they can order more items using the Google Home smart speaker and then buy everything at once - just like they can on Amazon. "Later, in the kitchen, Kai can reorder foil through voice, add it to the same cart using Google Home, and purchase all items at once through a Google-hosted checkout flow".

The reasoning behind this change in how products are listed in search results stems from changes in how people are actually using search engines.

On the other hand, Google's new program could possibly be favoring big brands.

So, the sites that lost the ranking were replaced by other sites, which gained because of the update in the algorithm.
