At its annual conference for developers on Monday, executive Craig Federighi announced iOS 12 with improvements to the operating system's performance and reliability, in addition to enhancements to augmented-reality applications and new tools to monitor how often people use their devices. Native USDZ support coming to Adobe Creative Cloud, too, so there will be new apps for Creative Cloud and a new iOS app that lets you take images and text and put it in AR, Apple explained while on stage. A new activity report will track how much time you're spending on your mobile device and how you're spending it via a daily breakdown. You can limit your app usage, say Facebook, by setting a time limit and iOS will stop you after the time is up.
The default Photos app in iOS finally has a built-in intelligent search feature - you can now search for multiple terms, locations, and more.
If you have the new fourth-generation Apple TV (the one with the touchscreen Siri remote control) you'll need to download the app from the App Store. Time limits for particular apps will also be available to users, and parents can set those time limits for their children. You'll get a 5 min warning when you're nearly out of time (and a button if you'd like to extend your time, of course).
A new app called Measure was also introduced, which lets users measure real-life objects with their smart device.
