  • England celebrate taking the wicket of Australia's Tim Paine

England recorded the highest ODI total in cricketing history, as they posted a quite outrageous 481-6 from their 50 overs.

The hosts, powered by Bairstow's 139 off 92 balls and Alex Hales' 147, hit the highest ever total in ODI cricket of 481/6 in 50 overs.

Roy struck his 82 runs off just 61 balls and Morgan needed just 30 balls to compile his 67. During the run-chase, Australia huffed and puffed and were never in contention to trace down the mammoth score. Only once in the 56-year history of List A cricket - when Surrey scored 496 for 4 against Gloucestershire at The Oval in 2007 - has any side scored more.

Bairstow smashed his fourth ODI century in 2018 and Hales took England past their old record with a six, the 21st of the innings.

After a match where England scored 481, smashing the previous highest total by 37 runs, Langer compared England's batting line-up to the Australian side that won the 2003 and 2007 World Cups, led by Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting. But he was back to his best at his home ground in Nottingham and reached three figures even quicker than Bairstow, his seventh global ton coming off 62 balls.

Australia captain Tim Paine said the 242-run defeat to England in the third ODI at Trent Bridge was his toughest day at the office and left him with a headache.

Anthem gameplay trailer reveals how quests, combat, and flying work
Closing out the EA Play conference, Anthem's official release date was revealed: February 22 , 2019, for PC, Xbox One , and PS4. These foes are dead set on creating a super weapon using something called the " Anthem of Creation".

The defeat was Australia's worst in 915 ODIs stemming back to 1971 and usurping the 206-run loss to New Zealand 32 years ago. "It's a case of following and watching the ball".

England notched their 2nd consecutive ODI series win against the world champions.

The opening stand fetched 159 runs inside 20 overs and was broken with Roy's run out in his attempt to scamper for the second run. Shane Warne took to Twitter and wrote: "Just woke up and saw the score in England".

In what was desperate attempt to save runs, Australia used as many as eight bowlers in the match but to no respite. This Australia attack, missing at least three first-choice seamers as it is, is not the strongest and the relatively short boundaries meant that, a couple of times, top-edges carried for sixes.

"There were some outstanding performances and we were relentless both with the bat and the ball", he said.
