Jurgen Klopp now has all the pieces for his puzzle, after Liverpool's summer spending spree to strengthen his squad of Champions League finalists.

Two years ago, Jürgen Klopp was scathing of the transfer of Paul Pogba to Manchester United.

Liverpool continue their pre-season build-up against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday evening in Charlotte, North Carolina, with kick off at 12.05am UAE time.

"I think I might have been a bit unfortunate with a couple of those reds", he says, with a laugh.

More than £150 million has been spent on acquiring the players Liverpool need to go toe-to-toe with Manchester City. It's only an opinion in that moment, and did I change my opinion?

"I'm still to see Shaqiri but everyone knows him well for his stats and his Premier League record, and how well he performs". That is true. But it is better to change your opinion than never have one.

Earlier this summer, we found out that Naby Keita insisted on showing up to Liverpool training a week before he was supposed to so that he could get his first preseason in the Premier League started early.

The purchase of Alisson took Liverpool's spending in the last 12 months to nearly £250 million, but Klopp was keen to point out that the number one priority is improving his side on the pitch.

Jurgen Klopp Admits His Opinion of Paul Pogba Transfer Fee Has Evolved

Klopp is preparing for his third season at Anfield and is still waiting for a number of World Cup stars to return as he fine-tunes his preparations.

"He's a fantastic player and it's deserved that people think highly of him in America - in Germany it's the same".

Suddenly, Liverpool are the club that players wants to be a part of.

However, last season's European blitzkrieg certainly got a lot of heads to turn.

He knows critics will be lining up should Liverpool wobble at any stage and it is how they deal with the hard moments that will determine what they can achieve. Dortmund's Christian Pulisic took centre stage and scored twice on home soil before teenager Jacob Bruun Larsen rounded off the scoring late in the match.

"He stays in the game and it's good for us to have him around".

The 26-year-old only played in two of Egypt's three games in Russian Federation this summer and struggled to replicate his record-breaking Liverpool form as a result of the injury. But I like him and it's not like that could be the problem. "We are used to these circumstances", he said.

"He was completely fine and is completely fine now", Klopp added.
