UFC President Dana White said after the incident that there had been bad feelings between McGregor's camp and Nurmagomedov, the Russian fighter whose bout with Max Holloway for McGregor's vacated belt was scratched when Holloway was deemed unfit.

Speaking outside the court, McGregor thanked the District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn and his family and friends for their support over the last few months.

WrestlingInc is reporting that he will be required to serve five days of community service, 1-to-3 days of an anger management evaluation and pay restitution for damages caused on the UFC fighter bus during the ordeal. The agreement involves no jail time and will not affect McGregor's travel visa.

He had faced up to seven years in prison if convicted on all counts, and was released on $US50,000 ($A67,000) bail following his arrest.

Ray Borg and Michael Chiesea, two of the fighters who were forced out of planned fights during that event, have a restraining order against McGregor until July 2020.

Conor McGregor pleaded guilty today in a NY court to charges relating to a backstage brawl in NY last April. "Connor has been training, he's in shape". "We hope to have something to announce really soon".

Prosecutors said the sentence will allow McGregor to "reflect on his conduct and give back to society".

According to sports journalists, the legal settlement could clear the way for his return to the Octagon later this year.

So whether it's by fate, by luck, or by clever, cunning design, McGregor is sitting on another goldmine and he's sitting on a fight and a build-up that just couldn't be underwhelming - even compared to a one-off fight with Floyd fucking Mayweather.
