The company will continue to develop improved touring and cruiser motorcycles and launch new modular 500cc to 1250cc middleweight platform of motorcycles, starting with a 1250cc custom model and a 975cc Streetfighter model in 2020, it said.
Harley-Davidson has also announced that it will launch its first electric motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson LiveWire in early 2019.
It's promising to expand that line over the next few years. Harley-Davidson is also changing its retail strategy and expanding its push internationally following declining US sales.
The announcement follows the development of the electric concept bike LiveWire Project, which was created back in 2014 to enable riders to test drive and give feedback on so that the company could refine the design before ramping up production.

US-based firm Harley-Davidson plans to put a brake on Royal Enfield's plans with its strategic move to come out with motorcycles in the small and mid-sized segment.
Traditional dealerships will still play an important role, and Harley-Davidson says it will implement a new performance framework to strengthen its dealer network. The LiveWire is being hailed as "the first in a broad, no-clutch "twist and go" portfolio of electric two-wheelers created to establish the company as the leader in the electrification of the sport", wrote the company in a press release. Livewire will be supplemented by small and lighter electric motorcycles in the years leading up to 2022. Harley retains an advantage in that it sells big, expensive cruisers, and these bikes tend to have good profit margins. During that time, the company wants to gain 2 million new riders to reverse declining sales.
The new 250-500 cc motorcycle from Harley Davidson will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350/500, the upcoming Triumph 500 cc (speculated) motorcycle, the new Jawa bike, and the Kawasaki Estrella 250 in the Asian markets.
Harley-Davidson CEO Matt Levatich said little when pressed about President Donald Trump's recent attacks on his company. "It's risky to think that motorcyclists aren't open-minded about other products and other brands", Levatich said. The company expects the 250-500cc motorcycle segment in India to grow at more than 25% annually through 2021, the daily added.
