"Aretha Franklin's "Celebration of Life" ceremony has drawn artists from all walks of life to honor the Queen of Soul, including Ariana Grande, who performed "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit on Friday (Aug. 31).

The singer's body was transported in a vintage white hearse used by civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks. Songs will be provided by Wonder, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Faith Hill, Shirley Caesar, Chaka Khan and more.

The church's choir sang Franklin's "Say a Little Prayer" and her version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" as mourners arrived.

"I love her and I respect who she was and who she is and all of those kinds of things", Knight added.

At the time of her death on August 16, Franklin was 76.

Clinton said that Franklin appeared to be very ill, but that she still spent 45 minutes singing in front of the crowd in West Harlem. For three days she lay in a golden, open-casket, wearing a different outfit each day - red on Tuesday, blue on Wednesday, rose gold on Thursday and a golden sparkling dress for her funeral on Friday.

Scheduled remarks from former President Bill Clinton, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and the Rev. Jesse Jackson signify Franklin's political and social influence. "We really celebrate because we really recognize that those we call the dearly departed, they wouldn't want for us to cry and be sad and sorrowful".

The singer said that she and the Queen of Soul ended up bonding the last time she spoke to her.

"We started out not as a president, a first lady, a senator, a secretary of State", Clinton said at a funeral service in Detroit for the performer known as the "Queen of Soul".

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old's choice of funeral attire drew criticism on social media for being a bit too revealing for church. The Lord tells us where we are going and tells us when we are coming.

"Aretha was my baby", Robinson said.

"You know the other Sunday on my show [MSNBC's Politics Nation], I misspelled 'respect, ' and a lot of y'all corrected me", Sharpton said from the podium Friday.
