From there, Jones describes Rubio as "snake-like" and calls him a "little frat boy".

Neither Jones nor Infowars actually earned a mention inside the Senate's hearing room, as lawmakers debated how to combat the influence of foreign powers like Russian Federation to influence the American political process. "I'm asking you not to touch me again ..."

"You're not gonna get arrested man", Rubio told Jones after the host accused Rubio of wanting to do just that.

"I didn't say that", Rubio says. So as much as I think the loss of Alex Jones on social media is no loss at all, I do worry about what the precedent of cutting him off means for the future. You are a little gangster thug.

As the Florida senator fielded questions from reporters, Jones interjected to plug his fringe media empire InfoWars.

"That's why you didn't get elected".

Jones runs InfoWars.com and has promoted conspiracy theories such as one claiming the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting didn't occur.

"You're not going to get arrested", Rubio replies.

Twitter announced Thursday that it "permanently suspended" Alex Jones and his show InfoWars from their platform, as well as Periscope. "Rubio just threatened to physically take care of me". Twitter said Jones posted a video on Wednesday that violates the company's policy against "abusive behavior". At one point, he patted Rubio on the shoulder condescendingly, further escalating the tension.

Jones was recently banned from Twitter for a week, Facebook took down several of his pages for violating "community standards", and his videos were stripped from YouTube last month.

Shot back Jones, "Go back to your bathhouse".

Jones also appeared to try to confront Dorsey and Sandberg after their Senate testimony.

As Jones continued to pester Rubio, the senator asked, "Who is this guy?"

As Rubio leaves, he tells the reporters that he has to be in committee, but they can "talk to this clown".
