Both Tropical Storm Isaac and Tropical Storm Helene are expected to reach hurricane strength later today, but neither are considered potential threats.

USA landfall could come Friday between Charleston, South Carolina and Norfolk, Virginia, the Hurricane Center said.

Where is the hurricane now?

The storm has 115 mph winds and is located 580 miles south-southeast of Bermuda and is moving west at 13 mph. It was moving to the west-northwest at 9 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hour.

Florence, now a Category 4 storm on the five-level Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale, could approach the coast of SC or North Carolina on Thursday.

The NHC issued a warning Monday morning, explaining when powerful gusts may approach. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles.

What else should I know?

State of Emergency has been declared by North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

"We do not want to risk one SC life in this hurricane", Governor Henry McMaster said at a news conference.

However, the agency is still suffering its worst funding crisis in its 68-year history, according to United Nations officials.

It warned the storm would be "an extremely risky major hurricane" by the time it made landfall, forecast in the Carolinas on Thursday.

McMaster said folks should prepare for a lot of flooding in the Pee Dee area.

Gov. Rick Scott released a statement on Monday urging Floridians to be prepared for the unexpected and remain on alert about Hurricane Florence. Since the space station completes a full orbit of the planet every hour and a half or so, the crew doesn't have to wait long to see whatever areas of Earth they want. In fact, there have only been four other hurricanes in our recorded history (since 1851) that have made landfall along the east coast north of Florida. Still, the storm would produce flooding rains across a large part of the U.S. South, expanding the damage, according to Enki Research's Watson.

Interests from SC through coastal Virginia should continue to pay close attention to future forecasts.

Six Expedition 56 crew members started off the day working on life science and spacesuit management, according to NASA, but their special view Hurricane Florence captured their attention.

The US navy has ordered ships at its Hampton Roads, Virginia base to put to sea, saying "the forecasted destructive winds and tidal surge are too great to keep the ships in port".
