  • Donald Trump says family separations deter illegal immigration

"I mean, there are many people that have said to me ..."

Among the revelations of the interview that President Trump just gave to "60 Minutes" is that hanging on the walls of the White House, the president has placed a picture of himself in the company of past Republican presidents.

Missouri artist Andy Thomas fielded a call a couple of weeks ago from President Donald Trump - with Vice President Mike Pence and California Rep. Darrell Issa also on the line.

It shows the president at a table, drinking what appears to be Diet Coke, with other presidents such as Richard Nixon, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, and others.

The artist behind a painting of President Trump surrounded by his Republican predecessors discussed the inspiration behind the piece Tuesday on Fox & Friends.

"He had actually given a me real gracious call to tell me how much he liked it", Thomas told the Daily Beast. The White House said that during President Barack Obama's tenure, on the other hand, more than $245 billion costs were added.

In both the Republican and Democratic versions, there's a vague rendering of a woman in the background, a nod to a potential first female American president.

Pakistan to start talks with International Monetary Fund as rupee continues to fall
As Washington and Beijing trade tariffs, economic growth is slowing for both countries and others. He contended that China had "already retaliated" against his tariff increases.

Repeatedly stressing what he saw as the achievements of his first two years, Mr Trump said he would be seeking another term because there was "always more work to do". But his odd taste in art probably wasn't supposed to be one of them.

"Even in Trump's thrift store trash painting, a woman is coming to end the bullshit when they aren't paying any attention", read a comment by Twitter user Emily Colucci.

Another replaced all of the president's faces with Trump's own face, where another threw in the faces of several accused dictators.

Trump said at the White House that he'd accept families crossing together under on a "merit basis", and said his administration is working on such a policy.

On the ongoing Russian Federation investigation, Trump defended his son Donald Trump Jr. for a Trump Tower meeting with a Kremlin-connected lawyer offering damaging information about Democrat Hillary Clinton.

"We're looking at everything that you could look at when it comes to illegal immigration", Trump said on Saturday, according to The Washington Post.
