Bolt is now in Sydney trying to pursue a professional career in football and is on trials with Australian team Central Coast Mariners.

The 100-metre world record-holder, who has been bidding for a professional contract since he retired previous year, recovered from a painful kick in the groin to grab a double against Macarthur South West United in Sydney.

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority forced him to pass the doping tests.

"They have been taken over by new owners who have aspirations of Champions League football".

Bolt made a decision to take on a career in professional football after retiring from track and field in 2016.

"This isn't about money, this is about history".

Louis Saha rips Paul Pogba for putting pressure on Jose Mourinho
A number of off-the-field spats, including a falling out between Mourinho and Paul Pogba , have increased the sense of chaos at the club.

That has led to rumors of interest from Maltese champions Valletta FC, with the club reportedly keen to sign the world's fastest man as they bid to break into the Champions League. "He's been training hard with us and he showed weaknesses, but he also showed his strengths and got two goals, so all credit to him", he said.

The eight-time gold medallist reacted with surprise after receiving a notice for a drugs test on Monday, just days after scoring his first goals in a friendly for the club. However, Bolt is yet to sign a deal with Australia's A-League club Central Coast Mariners, where he is now on trial.

The demand for the out of competition test - to collect urine and blood - appears to have been issued by Football Federation Australia.

"The ball is very much in the Mariners court".

FFA head David Gallop said Tuesday "the story of a contract in Europe is news to me", but that any financial support from the governing body would not be drawn from a marquee fund set up to attract top players to the A-League.

The 32-year-old's Mariners team-mate Ross McCormack, meanwhile, has hailed the 100m and 200m world record-holder's chances of succeeding in his switch to football.
