Dez Bryant ready to sign with New Orleans Saints

Sherman took to his personal Twitter account and reacted to the news that Bryant had signed with the Saints. But fortunately for Bryant, patience proved to be a virtue as he's reportedly on his way to the New Orleans Saints. The Saints play at Dallas on November 29. He previously met with the Browns and Ravens. A rising star in the league, Thomas has recorded 70 catches for 880 yards and five touchdowns in only eight games so far this season.

After a long, drawn out season that has seen the Dallas franchise leader in career touchdown receptions flirt with several AFC teams, the free agent wide receiver has landed with an NFC foe, and one that has a serious history of giving the Cowboys headaches. Perhaps he still has something left in the tank as he joins one of the NFL's best teams.

The Saints are now 7-1 and the top-scoring offense in the NFC.

Veteran Saints tight end Ben Watson said players in New Orleans' locker room must guard against pre-judging Bryant based on superficial observations from old television clips without knowing all the facts or how Bryant has evolved personally since.

The three-time Pro Bowl selection already showed signs of regression before being released by the Dallas Cowboys in April and the Saints' offense has been firing on all cylinders even without him.

United States officials have told Reuters the support mission would be coordinated by the U.S. military's Northern Command. Under the Posse Comitatus Act , federal troops are mostly prohibited from engaging in domestic law enforcement activities.

In New Orleans, Bryant will likely be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver along with promising rookie Tre'Quan Smith, who posted 11 catches for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns over the past four games after Ginn was injured.

"They're getting a great receiver".

Added Cowboys coach Jason Garrett: "I'm happy he has an opportunity to go play and finish the right way, it will be a great environment for him to go out and make an impact". "He's definitely a special player and I'm glad he got picked up and I'm glad something worked out for him".

The 30-year-old Bryant spent his first eight years in the National Football League with Dallas and last season caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns, including a 50-yard scoring play, for the Cowboys.

For now, we'll have to wait to see how Bryant will be used in the Saints' stacked offense.
